What Shell says it does
- Controls liner lacquering, which helps keep oil consumption in check in modern high-output distillate engines.
- Detergent and dispersant chemistry keeps pistons, undercrowns, ring belts and crankcases clean.
- Tolerates overload and poor combustion, and separates water well in the purifier.
- Its gearbox, clutch and stern-tube approvals let a smaller vessel carry one oil for several systems.
Shell advises care when switching from Argina (residual fuel) to Gadinia S3 on distillate, to avoid sludge.
