What Shell says it does
- Resists thermal and chemical breakdown and deposits on rotors and vane slots.
- Keeps oil/air separators clean; low volatility means less carry-over and top-up.
- Ashless anti-wear system protects bearings and gears; releases air quickly without excess foam.
- Drain intervals up to 10,000 hours where the compressor maker allows. Shell recommends the lower figure in hot, humid climates.
Mixes with mineral oils, but dilution markedly reduces its performance. Avoid mixing with some other synthetic fluids.
